This two-hour session is designed for students and their families who are just beginning the college search process and want a clear, supportive place to start. Choosing a college can feel overwhelming, and this class helps you break the process into manageable, understandable steps while encouraging productive family conversations.
You’ll learn how to identify what matters most in a college search, including academic programs, campus culture, size, location, and cost. The session covers how to research colleges effectively, understand different types of institutions, and begin building a college list that aligns with student goals and family priorities. You’ll also receive an overview of timelines, key terms, and common misconceptions that often cause confusion early in the process.
With time for questions and discussion, this class is practical, approachable, and informative. Families will leave feeling more confident, organized, and ready to take the next steps in the college search journey together. Great for adults and students 15 and up! Please note: Only one ticket is required per family, which covers the student and up to two accompanying chaperones or family members.
