Gather close and step into an unforgettable, interactive storytelling experience with world-traveling master storyteller Janice Katambwa. This lively story play invites children and adults to journey along the Mississippi River through rich, imaginative tales inspired by its waters, wildlife, and the playful spirit of river otters.
Through movement, music, voice, and guided audience participation, Katambwa brings stories to life—encouraging participants to sing, move, and become part of the adventure rather than just listeners. Keep your eyes open—you may even spot a friendly otter along the way, adding moments of surprise and delight.
The experience continues beyond the story with hands-on creative activities. A paint-and-draw-along allows participants to create their own river-inspired artwork, while a Story Walk guides families through illustrated stories paired with interactive activity stations. You may even spot EICC's very own otter!
Designed to delight all ages, this buy-one-get-one event encourages you to bring a child or a friend and share the magic together. Expect laughter, creativity, light refreshments, and meaningful connections to stories that flow through generations—just like the Mississippi River itself.
