EMS hours applied for. This course is bassed on the American Heart Association 2015 Guidelines which is designed for previously PALS trained healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardivascular emergencies in children/infants. Pre-course assessment is required with a passing score of 70% to enter the course. Bring completed PALS pre-test to class. Tuition does not include course book; you may purchase a textbook at the Continuing Education office for $45.00. Objectives: 1. Identify children/infants at high risk and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest; 2. Perform BCLS on children/infants and integrate into a resuscitation sequence; 3. Demonstrate skills to use various emergency equipment to resuscitate and stabilize pediatric cases in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest; 4. Support families and providers in coping with emergencies and death.
