Emotional Intelligence (EI) has been referred to as the distinguishing factor between average managers and great leaders. It is the best predictor of a leader’s effectiveness, business performance, engagement, and job satisfaction. Emotional Intelligence factors into how leaders work with others, collaborate, handle more demanding work, and respond to change. It starts with awareness of emotions and being able to recognize the emotions others are having. Then, using these insights, responding in ways that create a high-trust environment where people thrive and do their best work.

This series provides participants the opportunity to develop the building blocks for emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy for others, and relationship-building.
By the end of this four-class series, you will be able to:

  • Define emotional intelligence and its professional and personal benefits

  • Articulate your personal values and purpose

  • Practice self-awareness by recognizing and naming your emotions

  • Demonstrate empathy through active listening

  • Improve relationships by practicing emotional understanding in dealing with others
