« back to classes page
Iowa law requires that parties involving the issues of child custody or visitation must attend the Children in the Middle class. This four-hour class is designed to help minimize the negative impact of divorce on children and educate parents about the needs of their children. Topics include parenting skills, child's needs, healthy vs. problematic reactions of most children, age-specific needs, and identifying how your children feel.

Students must attend and actively participate in the entirety of the session. Late admittance to the course and from breaks, as well as leaving early is not permitted, and students must re-register at their own expense. Upon completion of the class, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Child care is not provided and children are unable to attend the class.
Note the Continuing Education office is open Monday-Thursday, 7 am-5:30 pm. All college offices are closed on Friday and the weekends. Students must address any issues regarding the class during office hours.
