This class provides foodservice managers with basic sanitation principles, ways to apply them in practical situations, and methods for training and motivating employees to follow good sanitation practices. An approved SERVSAFE Course. Successful completion of this class will fulfill the demonstration of knowledge requirement under the new Iowa Food Code. This class also fulfills Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (FSSMC) as required in Illinois and the sanitation requirement for chef certification by the American Culinary Federation, Health Facility Foodservice Supervisors and the School Nutrition Association (SNA). The textbook, which includes the exam answer sheet, can be purchased at the Urban Campus bookstore.
*This online class is offered over the Zoom video webinar platform. Along with the textbook, this training requires a packet of handouts which is available at our Urban Campus, 101 West Third Street, Davenport, IA 52801. You will also need a computer and internet access. We will send you the Zoom link via email 1-2 days before class. If you do not receive an email with a link, call our Continuing Education office at 563-336-3444. The final exam will take place in person on our Urban campus.
