Creative Writing and Social Development

In this course, you will be guided toward a deeper understanding of the role fictional literature plays in the formation and retention of identity, values, empathy, and social expectations. Various texts, including children’s books, short stories, and novel excerpts will be analyzed with emphasis on the social concepts featured within them. Additionally, students will be taught the basic fundamentals of creative writing and prompted to explore aspects of social development within their own written works.
