This 3-day course is delivered by an MSHA approved cooperative trainer. MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training (30 CFR Part 46) covers the safety and emergency response requirements for new miners for surface operations only. It's required for people who work in mining operations, including: Miners and supervisors, Contractors, Construction workers, and Maintenance and service workers. Part 46 regulates the training of miners engaged in shell dredging or employed at sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, surface limestone mines.
