The Phlebotomy Technician Program is a nine week course that meets 16 hours per week and prepares professionals for blood collection using several different techniques to perform laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with the entire process of blood collection as well as post blood collection for processing. Students will develop comprehensive skills to perform venipuncture accurately and safely, while also assuring testing specimens are secured and stored for future analysis. When students satisfactorily complete all requirements of the program they are eligible to take a National certificate exam such as the NCCT or National Center for Competency Testing. This fee is not covered as part of tuition and will range from $119.00 to $169.00 depending on the bundle student selects. Additionally, a criminal background check & Abuse registry check is a requirement for all phlebotomy students for clinical placement. A $56.75 non-refundable fee is payable by student first week of class using debit or credit card to pay for this required service. AHA BLS CPR certification is required for clinical placement. If student does not have a current BLS card, then they will be required to purchase and take the online version (Cost $37.00) with skills and practice session being offered at no cost during class.
