Manual Transmission Commercial Driver's License Course Overview:

The Manual Transmission Commercial Driver's License course is designed to meet the new Department of Transportation entry-level driver training requirements. This comprehensive five-week program combines classroom instruction with hands-on driving experience across diverse environments, including rural roads, urban streets, highways, and interstate systems.


Upon completion, students will be fully prepared to take the state performance examinations for a CDL Class A license. Those who choose the Manual Transmission class will qualify for additional career opportunities restricted to drivers with automatic transmission certification.


Students will master essential skills including:

  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Logging and trip planning
  • Mapping and route optimization
  • Vehicle equipment and operations
  • Safe vehicle operation procedures

Prerequisites: All students must meet the following requirements before enrollment:

  • Age: Minimum 18 years old at time of enrollment
  • Language: Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Physical Capability: Must be physically able to perform required CDL skills
  • Pre-Qualification Survey: Must complete pre-qualification survey to get started

Required Documents: Before registering, all students must submit:

  1.  DOT Physical Results
  2. Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) – DMV
  3. Abstract Driving Record – obtained from the DMV
  4. State Driver's License (copy of front and back)

Enrollment Process:
 

  1. Pre-Qualification: Complete the pre-qualification survey.

  2. Documentation: Upload documentation and complete the admissions application once you receive the link.

  3. Application Review: Once your application and documents are received and verified, we will contact you to schedule your drug test.

  4. Drug Testing: Upon receiving your test results, we will provide details about your class start date and instructions for beginning the online theory portion.

  5. Online Theory: Complete the online theory portion before beginning the driving portion of your class.

Important Information:
Failure to complete the online theory requirement on time may delay your program completion date.

CDL testing is conducted on-site for your convenience.
