This class is designed to prepare the participant to safely administer or supervise self-administration of noninjectable medications.  It is for those who are employed in a cognitively disabled facility, child caring facility or supervised apartment or community based living.
This course will be completed online for theory and 100% of the course must be completed.  You will have 30 days to complete the online theory section, and this begins when Canvas access is granted.  Lab/clinical for 3 hours is a requirement and can be completed by a RN in your employment facility.

Notice

Please read:  Login information for the online course will be sent via email within 4–5 business days of registration. The email will have the subject line: Medication Manager for Community-Based Service Providers (Online) Class Login Information.
Once access is granted, students will have 30 days to complete the online theory portion of the course. Completion of 100% of the online coursework is required.
This is a pass/fail course, and students are required to attend 100% of the instruction. Students must successfully complete the CORE component, which consists of the first six hours of instruction, with a minimum score of 70% to continue in the course.
Additionally, the online course requires 3 hours of lab/clinical instruction, which may be completed by a registered nurse (RN) at the student’s employing facility.
To successfully pass the course, all students must complete the final examination through Eastern Iowa Community College and achieve a minimum score of 80%.
