In the first half of this class, taught by Muscatine Tech, you will learn how to confidently navigate the internet while protecting your personal information, devices, and finances. Whether you use email, social media, online banking, or shopping websites, this course will give you practical tools to recognize and avoid common online scams.
Participants will learn how scammers operate, including phishing emails, fake websites, phone and text message scams, and social media fraud.
Finally, you will have time to discuss any frustrations, questions, or concerns you have about the internet. Feel free to bring any recent struggles with a specific tech.
This class is created for anyone worried about their privacy and security online, whether you are 14 or 94. This class is a safe, judgment-free environment where you are encouraged to ask questions openly. Desktop Computers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own laptop or phone.
