Join us over the lunch hour for a lively exploration of Celtic traditions, folklore, and seasonal stories connected to the month of March—a time long understood as a threshold between winter’s hold and the return of light and growth.
This program will introduce several key figures and themes from Celtic tradition, including the Tuatha Dé Danann, the mythic people of the land who later became the fairy folk; the powerful threshold tale of Tam Lin, a story of release and transformation; and traditional ways of working respectfully with the “Good Neighbors,” the unseen beings believed to share the landscape during seasonal transitions. We will also explore the story of Scáthach, the legendary warrior-teacher whose rise represents initiation, resilience, and readiness as the year turns toward spring.
Through storytelling, cultural context, and discussion, participants will gain insight into how these traditions reflect renewal, balance, and respect for both land and season.
This is a bring-your-own-lunch event; light refreshments will be provided. Come curious, bring your lunch, and enjoy a thoughtful pause to connect with stories that have marked the turning of the year for generations.
