Staying safe online is an essential skill in today’s digital world. This class, taught by Help Muscatine Tech, is designed to help participants confidently navigate the internet while protecting their personal information, devices, and finances. Whether you use email, social media, online banking, or shopping websites, this course will give you practical tools to recognize and avoid common online scams.
Participants will learn how scammers operate, including phishing emails, fake websites, phone and text message scams, and social media fraud. The class will cover how to spot red flags, create strong passwords, protect personal information, and safely use websites and apps. You’ll also learn what to do if you think you’ve been targeted by a scam and how to report suspicious activity.
This class is taught in a clear, easy-to-understand format with real-world examples and time for questions. No advanced technical experience is required—just a desire to stay informed and safe online. By the end of the session, participants will feel more confident using technology and better prepared to protect themselves and their families from online threats.

This course is ideal for beginners and anyone looking for a refresher on digital safety. Computers will be provided.
